Burns and Scalds
Fire, hot objects, hot gases, electricity and over-exposure to the sun can burn the skin and deeper tissues. When talking about scalds we mean injuries through steam and boiling liquids. The seriousness of burns and scalds is to be judged according to the following points:
1st degree: The skin turns red
2nd degree: Reddening and blisters and even superficial scurf
3rd degree: Deep damage to the skin and hypodermis with scurf and charring
Important:
Burns of the 2nd and 3rd degree, as well as slight burns in the face, on the hands, over the joints and on private parts must be examined and treated by a doctor. Attention: Contrary to adults even slight burns are dangerous to children.
Chemical burns must be neutralized before using
burning wounds gel.
With electrical burns, the current must be switched off before using
burning
wounds gel, as the Hydrogel is water based and will conduct electricity.
